Glenda Harward-Nalder
Biography :
Glenda Harward-Nalder is a descendant of the Ngugi people of Mulgumpin (Moreton Island) in the Quandamooka (Moreton Bay Area, south-east Queensland, Australia), residing on saltwater Bundjalung Country (for north coast, Northern New South Wales, Australia).
She is an independent community-based researcher whose research interests include Participatory Community Research & Development, Indigenous Knowledge Keeping and Sharing (rights management), Community-based Learning – (land, language and culture, multiliteracies), Aboriginal language retrieval and revitalisation (Jandai & Guwar dialects of the Yagara and Bundjalung Language Groups), and Indigenous Governance and Enterprise Development.

Personal Statement :
As the First Peoples of this country, our responsibility to our Mother Earth demands our life-long commitment. To honour this obligation, many of us have striven to educate ourselves 'both ways' to the highest degree. In our language we have a word 'gana' which means, simultaneously, listen, know and understand. Our language comes from the land. As the oldest living culture on this land, we have much to contribute.
